Hello fellow cat parents! I’m writing about this in case any of you cat folks aren’t aware of this cause. While cats have owned me my entire life, I sporadically acquire new information about them that I like to pass on.
This is Felix:
I adopted him six years ago from a shelter as a companion for my girl cat. Felix is a garbage disposal as well as the chillest cat I’ve ever owned. He’s extremely adaptable and is impervious to heat (I’m not even joking; this cat loves the desert heat as well as anything heat related.)
Lately, he’s been doing this:
He’s been sticking his tongue. While adorable, it’s not really in Felix’s O.G. behavior to do that and after noticing that he was drooling as well, I consulted the internet. There’s a WebMD for pets and it’s just as terrifying as the site for people but it did say it could be indicative of mouth or gum related problems. So I take him to the vet and that’s exactly what it was. He’s getting two teeth extracted and some mouth work done.
Keep in mind Felix showed no signs of discomfort or pain and was regularly eating, drinking and running the house. He’s going to be on some medications for a while but he should be ok. Please pass this information on.
